Don't you feel so blessed during the holidays?
I sure do. I am sitting at home right now, having some "Amber" time, and I can't help but feel so lucky. My live Christmas tree is lighting the living room, and has a lot of wrapped presents underneath. I have two candles burning whose scents remind me of my childhood (cinnamon and pine). I am wrapped in a cozy blanket with my laptop on my lap, while glancing at Home Alone every few minutes on the television. And I have a cup of hot chocolate warming up in the microwave, not to mention the EXTRA marshmallows that I am going to pour on top. YUMMY! All I need now is a fireplace and I would be all set. Well...that and my handsome husband sitting next to me. Life often gets so complicated and crazy, that we forget to stop and appreciate the little things in life. I love my life and I love the holidays. I can't wait to drive home to Tennessee for Christmas to visit with my family and friends. I wish all of you the best holiday season- one with lots of love and happiness.

I Hate Working Out
Why is it that most people (including myself) dread the things that are good for you? For example, eating broccoli for dinner and working out. I absolutely hate working out and in all honesty, I am not the biggest fan of broccoli. Yet, I know that I need to do it in order to stay healthy and somewhat attractive. Its hard to motivate yourself to look better when your husband claims that everything looks perfect already. Did I mention that my husband was a liar? He is either a liar or in complete denial. I hope he stays that way..... haha. I love that he loves me.
So I have to leave you now because I need to go workout & eat a healthy dinner.
All I really want to do is eat a greasy pizza, drink a glass of red wine, and watch days of our lives.
Ah...the sacrifices one has to make to stay attractive....

Thanksgiving w/ Family
This blog was inspired by my cousin Alicia.... a family member who is close to me in age, but I find myself knowing very little about.
I have always claimed that family is the most important thing to me, but often find myself too busy to really get to know each member of my VERY large family. My New Years resolution (yes I know it is early), is to change that! So here is some information about Thanksgiving and each member of my growing family that I was able to spend time with.
My Thanksgiving holiday started out with a flight from Miami to Nashville. Matt (my husband) and I booked a direct flight, but had to fly out of Miami in order to save $250. As nice as it was save the $250, Miami's airport might have been the most hectic place I have ever been. We had to park in one out of 5 garages, and in a spot called Purple 4NN. We even made up a little saying to remember where we parked.....not blue, not green, but purple 4NNNNN. We curled our lips up and made a NNN sound, instead of saying double N. We found ourselves laughing quite a bit at that! We seem to entertain ourselves a lot like that....
Matt's dad picked us up from the airport and took us to downtown Nashville. I love that city. It was a crisp afternoon, somewhere in the low 50's. Everyone has a smile on their face, and I swear you could smell the holiday in the air. It was a mixture of burning leaves, cinnamon candles, and chimney's . It was wonderful! After seeing the city, we went and ate at O'Charley, my favorite restaurant in TN. I had Salmon, baked potato, house salad, and the best rolls you could ever imagine! We ended the night at our favorite local bar in Lebanon- Blue Moon- where shuffle board, karaoke, and dancing is always popular with our group of friends.
Thursday morning, we woke up and went directly to my parents house in Gallatin TN. There, I was able to spend time with my husband, my parents, my sisters, brother in laws, nieces, nephews, grandmother, dogs, aunt, 1st cousins, and 2nd cousins. It was a very hectic day, but I wouldn't have had it any other way.
My parents have been happily married for 39 years. They are more in love today than they have ever been. My two older sisters and I sat around and talked about all the shopping we were going to do on Black Friday, and talk about how all men should be like Edward from the Twilight movie. We also argued about which wedding portrait should be in the middle on our parents wall. Naturally it should be the best photo, and of course that would be mine and Matt's. ;) haha! I love picking on them. They swear I have always been spoiled and babied all my life....and I can't really argue. Being the baby in the family has always worked in my favor, but at least I appreciate how spoiled I am!!
We all sat down to enjoy Mom's giant Thanksgiving feast- turkey, sweet potato casserole, dressing, mashed potatoes, rolls, cranberries, etc. It was nice to have every member of our family at our dinner table. This was my first Thanksgiving being married. It sure was nice to be considered an adult and not a child anymore. I am 25 after all! It was nice to feel complete.
After dinner, other members of our family came over for pie and dessert. My cousins: Alicia, Tommy, Daniel, Isabella, Nadia, and my aunt Renee'. It sure was nice to see them. Even though it was for 5 minutes. I sure do wish I could spend more time with them and get to know each of them a little bit better. Hopefully that will change in the near future.
After dinner & pie, the girls played domino's with my 87 year old grandmother, while the boys had a dart tournament downstairs in my parents garage. The kids were making crafts. We are always very active at each family get together.
The rest of the week was spent playing cards at my sisters, shopping on black Friday, thanksgiving dinners with my husbands family, and late night talks around a bonfire with some of our closest friends.
It sure was nice to be home for the holidays. The trip home emphasized more than ever, how important family and friends are to my life. They keep me going!
Thanks for taking the time to read. More to come later...
